This week, we have a 13-fight card in Boise, Idaho. It’s headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, who is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller contests with this card because it’s just a Fight Night card using lesser known name, but there is still well over $100k to be won. I will be chasing my fair share of that money and that I hope you guys will be . Here are a few plays I like this weekend along with my fade of this week.
Cash Game play of this week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I think Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this particular card along with his -300 gaming lineup would agree with me. That is where I’ll be starting my lineup this week and I will figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points during his first four UFC fights so he has a whole lot of upside as well. He could possible score more than two winners with this particular card combined. I really do think he is in drama for GPPs as well for this reason, but he will probably be the heaviest owned fighter on the card and we do not care about ownership as much in money games. I would suggest paying up for the costly price tag in your money games and then look for at least 3 others wins you’re confident in.
GPP play of this week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to function as way better striker inside this struggle and I believe this is where the battle will occur. He can get KO’d in the opening seconds of this battle and score 0 points, but that is what makes him a GPP drama instead of a money match play. With these two Heavyweights, we should likely find a KO inside the 25-minues and I think the former winner, JDS, are the one to receive it. He has good takedown defense so he ought to be able to keep this battle on the toes where he will have a 4-inch achieve advantage to work with.
Underdog drama of the week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to be my underdog play of the week. The odds indicate that the fight should be rather close and there is a good chance he utilizes his wrestling to obtain the benefit. In 5 fights that he hasn’t seen a decision yet, and there’s a chance it remains that way if he gets Brown into the ground. Niko includes some slick submissions in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the feet, Brown probably has the benefit with his reach, but Cost does have any sneaky power also, which can’t be overlooked. Overall, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of the week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is only $100 cheaper than Volkanovski. In my opinion, Perez will need a finish to have a shot at paying that expensive salary and I don’t want to invest in that, personally. He’s never landed more than one takedown at a fight and Wineland has exceptional takedown defense, therefore we should see this battle occur on the toes. I think Perez needs to be the one to receive his hands raised in the conclusion but I think that it’s going to be via decision. If that’s true then he can score ~60 points in a win, and also at $9.1k that is not going to win anyone a tournament. I’ll be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he does not get the end and he is my official evaporate of this week.
