Yannis Malegiannakis was born in Athens, Greece in 1977. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (BA and MA in Fine Art) and continued his studies in Udk Berlin from where he graduated in 2012 and HfBK Dresden (Meisterschuler) from where he graduated in 2014. Awards and distinctions include the Charles Oulmont Foundation, Paris, Award (2015), the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden Certificate (2015), a scholarship from the Athens Academy (2011) and the Spyropoulos Foundation, Athens Award (2007). Malegiannakis has exhibited internationally (ex. Künstlerhaus Bregenz, Austria, Espacio gallery London, Cite International des Arts, Paris, Bethanien Raum für die Künste, Berlin) and to date has had two solo shows in Greece. His third solo exhibition is scheduled to open in the gallery in January of 2016. Yannis Malegiannakis is currently based in Berlin.
